In C3 Esports, you do not apply to teams — a team manager adds you using an invite code. This guide explains how the process works and what you need to do before you can join.

Before you can join any team

You must complete two account steps first. Without both, you will get an error when trying to use an invite code:
You can only be on one team roster at a time. If you are currently on a team and want to join a different one, you must be removed from your current team first. See Leaving a Team.

How to join a team

1

Get the invite code from your manager

Ask the team manager to share the team’s invite code or invite link. They can find it on their team page. The link looks like:
https://c3esports.com/teams/join?code=YOURCODE
2

Use the invite link or enter the code manually

Option A — Invite link: Click the link your manager shared. You will be taken directly to a confirmation page.Option B — Manual entry: Go to c3esports.com/teams/join, type or paste the code, and click Join Team.Join Team page with a text field for the invite code and a Join Team button
3

Confirm and join

You will see a preview of the team (name, tag, logo, current roster size). Click Confirm to join.Team preview card showing team name "UTA Rockets", tag "UTA", and a Confirm button
4

Check your eligibility status

After joining, go to your profile or the team’s roster page. Your eligibility status will show as green (ready to compete) once both .edu and Discord are verified.
Once you join, introduce yourself in your team’s Discord server if you haven’t already. Your manager will likely share the match schedule and expectations for the season.

Why you cannot be on multiple teams

The one-team rule exists to prevent players from competing against their own teammates in different divisions — which would create obvious conflicts of interest and potential for match manipulation. Staff enforce this actively, and being found on multiple rosters can result in removal from both and a temporary ban.

I cannot find an invite code — can I browse available teams?

C3 Esports does not have a public team recruitment board. If you are looking for a team:
  1. Post in the #looking-for-team channel in the C3 Esports Discord.
  2. Mention your skill level, school, and availability.
  3. Wait for a manager to reach out with an invite code.

Frequently asked questions

The code may have been regenerated by the manager (which invalidates the old one). Ask your manager to share the current code directly.
You are currently on another team’s roster. You must be removed from that team before joining a new one. Contact your current manager or see Leaving a Team.
You are missing either .edu email verification, Discord linking, or both. Complete the steps at Creating Your Account and Linking Discord, then try again.
That is normal — teams are created in Draft status and register during the registration window. You are on the roster; your manager will register the team when registration opens.
