Replay files are the primary evidence used to verify match results and extract player statistics. Uploading replays is not optional — they are required for every game played in C3 Esports.

What is required

  • One .replay file per game in the series
  • Upload within 2 hours of match completion
  • The replay must show the correct score for that game
  • The replay must include all players who participated in that game
For a BO3 series that goes 2-1 (3 games played), you need 3 replay files — one for each game. For a BO3 series that ends 2-0 (2 games played), you need 2 files.
You need one replay file per game, not one per series. A single series can require up to 3 (BO3) or 5 (BO5) separate files.

What the replay must show

Each replay file must:
RequirementDetail
Correct final scoreThe score in the replay must match the score submitted for that game
Correct playersThe Epic usernames in the replay must match the registered C3 Esports players from both rosters
Valid game settingsSoccar, DFH Stadium, 5-min, no mutators (replays encode settings and these are checked)
Complete gameThe replay must cover the full game, not just a portion of it

Where to find replay files

Rocket League saves replay files automatically. Default location: Windows:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Demos\
Sort by Date Modified to find the most recent games. See Uploading Replays for step-by-step instructions.

Consequences of missing or invalid replays

Staff will issue a warning. If this happens repeatedly, the match result may be reversed in the opponent’s favor and the team may face additional penalties. Upload promptly — do not let the deadline pass.
An automatic Score Mismatch flag is applied to the game. Staff will review. If the replay score is determined to be correct, the submitted score may be overridden to match the replay. This may also trigger a dispute review.
This is treated as a potential ineligible player situation and is reviewed as a dispute. The match result may be reversed if an ineligible player is confirmed.
The game may be ruled invalid and required to be replayed. This is why you must verify settings before starting each game.
Contact staff immediately. Staff can attempt a reparse. If the file is unrecoverable, you may need to provide an alternative replay from the other team or accept the result based on screenshots and other evidence. See Replay Reparsing.

Replay file format

Rocket League replay files:
  • End in .replay
  • Are typically 1–5 MB in size
  • Cannot be opened directly — they are binary files parsed by Rocket League and tools like ballchasing.com
  • Are automatically saved by Rocket League at the end of every game; you do not need to do anything special to generate them
Do not rename, compress, or modify replay files before uploading. Upload the raw .replay file as generated by Rocket League. Modified files may fail to parse or return incorrect data.

Forfeit games

For games that were forfeited (the opposing team did not show up), no replay file is required. The forfeit win is recorded without a game being played, so there is no replay to upload.

Best practices

After every game, immediately navigate to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Demos\ and note the newest file. By the end of the series, you know exactly which files correspond to which games. This saves confusion when uploading.
  • Keep Rocket League open until after you have identified and noted the replay files.
  • Avoid playing casual or extra games between your series games — extra files in the folder make it harder to identify which replay goes with which match game.
  • If possible, have one designated player responsible for collecting and sending replay files to the manager immediately after the series ends.
