Core eligibility requirements
Every player must meet all of the following requirements:Currently enrolled
You must be actively enrolled at an accredited college or university at the time of competition. Full-time, part-time, and graduate students all qualify.
Verified .edu email
You must add and verify a .edu email address on your C3 Esports profile. This is the primary verification mechanism for enrollment.
Linked Discord account
Your Discord account must be connected to your C3 Esports profile. This is used for identity verification and communication.
Single team only
You may only be on one registered team roster at a time. Being on multiple rosters is prohibited regardless of division.
What counts as an accredited institution
Any college or university that:- Is regionally or nationally accredited in the United States (or the applicable country)
- Issues .edu email addresses to enrolled students
- Offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs
GPA and credit hour requirements
There are no GPA or credit hour minimums to participate in C3 Esports. Eligibility is based solely on enrollment status, not academic performance. This is an honor system — players are expected to self-report honestly.Proof of enrollment
Staff may request proof of enrollment at any time, particularly when:- A dispute alleges an ineligible player competed
- A player’s eligibility is questioned by the opposing team
- Staff are reviewing an unusual .edu domain
- A current semester class schedule (screenshot from your school’s student portal)
- A current tuition payment receipt
- An official enrollment verification letter from your registrar
- A screenshot of your school-issued email inbox (to confirm the address is active)
Players who cannot provide requested proof within 48 hours may be ruled ineligible for that match week. If you are asked for proof, respond promptly — staff work on a timeline.

You remain eligible if you are enrolled at your new school. Update your .edu email on your profile to reflect your new institution. If your old .edu email remains active during the transition, it continues to satisfy verification until you update it.
I am an international student

International students enrolled at a qualifying U.S. institution (or an institution in a country C3 Esports supports) are eligible. Contact staff to confirm if your institution qualifies.

Non-.edu domains are evaluated case-by-case. Contact staff with your institution name and email domain. Staff will verify accreditation and update your account eligibility manually if your institution qualifies.
Enforcement
Staff verify eligibility through:- The
.eduemail verification system (automatic) - Replay file parsing — Epic usernames in replays are compared against registered roster players
- Manual proof requests following a dispute
