Valid reasons to file a dispute
Staff will investigate disputes filed for the following reasons:Score discrepancy
The submitted score for one or more games does not match the actual result, as supported by replay files or screenshots.
Ineligible player
The opposing team fielded a player who was not on their registered roster, did not have a verified .edu email, or otherwise did not meet eligibility requirements.
No-show / forfeit
The opposing team did not appear for the match and the forfeit was not automatically recorded or needs staff confirmation.
Rule violation
The opposing team used prohibited game settings, violated lobby rules, or committed another clear breach of the Match Rules.
Invalid reasons to file a dispute
Staff will dismiss disputes filed for the following reasons:- Lag or disconnections — technical issues during gameplay do not invalidate results unless both teams agree to replay
- Personal disputes — interpersonal conflicts between players belong in Code of Conduct reports, not match disputes
- Disagreement with officiating — if staff already reviewed a situation and made a ruling, filing a new dispute about the same ruling is not valid
- “We played worse than we should have” — losing a fair match is not grounds for a dispute
- Issues not documented at the time — if you did not screenshot, save the replay, or note the issue during the match, retroactive claims are very difficult to substantiate
Filing frivolous disputes wastes staff time and may result in a warning or a temporary restriction on your ability to file future disputes.
The dispute process
Gather evidence immediately
Collect screenshots of scoreboards, note replay file locations, and write down exactly what happened while it is fresh.
Manager files the dispute
Only team managers can file disputes. Go to the match page and click Dispute Result within 24 hours of result submission. See Filing a Dispute (Manager).
Match result is frozen
The result will not auto-confirm while the dispute is under review, regardless of how long it takes.
Staff review
Staff review evidence from both teams, compare replays, and may contact managers for additional information.
Decision issued
Staff issue a decision: the original result stands, the result is corrected, or a forfeit is declared. Both managers are notified.

What staff consider when resolving disputes
Staff decisions are based on evidence, not claims. The strongest evidence, in descending order of weight:- Replay files — the parsed result is the most objective record available
- Screenshots of the in-game scoreboard — timestamp and player names visible
- Consistent testimony from both teams — if both teams agree on what happened, that is strong
- Discord message logs — timestamps can corroborate a timeline
- Single-party claims without evidence — least persuasive; will not override contradictory hard evidence
Appeals
Staff decisions are final. If you believe a decision was made in error:- Contact an admin (not a staff member who handled the original dispute) via Discord.
- Present any new evidence not considered in the original review.
- The admin will decide whether to reopen the dispute.
Code of Conduct violations
If the dispute involves a behavior violation (slurs, harassment, threats, intentional forfeits) in addition to or instead of a score dispute:- Include it in the dispute description under “Rule violation.”
- Staff handle both aspects — the score dispute and the conduct issue — as part of the same review.
- Conduct violations may result in suspensions or bans separate from the match result decision.
